2023 Lincoln Corsair: three things to know
July 27 2023,
In 2015, Lincoln introduced a new SUV to the market with the MKC. The response from the press and public was unanimous; the model was the first in a long time to truly represent the Lincoln spirit.
All too often, the brand had offered good vehicles, but a little too closely tied to the parent company, Ford. With the MKC, Lincoln broke free.
The model was a huge success.
In 2020, when the company overhauled itself, it took another important step by renaming its vehicles to give them an even more distinctive identity. The MKC became the Corsair.
Now in its fourth year as a second-generation model, the Corsair benefits from minor cosmetic changes that make it even more attractive. The front grille is more massive, but not as disproportionate as some rivals. Lincoln's aim is not to impress, but to seduce, to please.
This philosophy comes into its own inside. Lincoln does not seek to imitate the competition when designing its interiors; it seeks to meet the needs of its customers. This is exactly what Lincoln has done with its Corsair. The Corsair offers a pleasant environment in which luxury is omnipresent, but never ostentatious.
The materials used, the layout of the controls (including discreet transmission buttons), the purity of the design - everything contributes to making you feel good on board. And what about the seats? They're by far the most comfortable you'll find in the class. Ask your Lincoln advisor about them. The work done on them is spectacular.
In short, it's a warm, sensory experience you get on board, not just smoke and mirrors in a cold environment.
Finally, the third thing that defines this model in a very interesting way is the possibility of going with a plug-in hybrid configuration. This takes shape thanks to the work of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which, combined with the work of an electric motor and a 14.4 kWh battery, gives you all the power you need (266 hp), as well as an all-electric range of 45 kilometers.
All of which makes this model different from any other on the market.
